Why Your USDT Will Not Send From Trust Wallet

Open Trust Wallet, tap your USDT, hit send, and the transfer fails. The wallet probably showed something like "insufficient energy", "not enough TRX for fees", or "out of energy". You are not doing anything wrong, and your money is not gone.

Here is what is happening. USDT lives on the Tron network, and Tron charges a small fee for every transfer. That fee is paid in TRX, the network's own coin, not in USDT. If your wallet holds plenty of USDT but zero TRX, you cannot pay the fee, so the network refuses the transfer. The USDT sits in your balance, safe, but locked behind a fee you cannot cover yet.

This is the single most confusing thing about Tron for new users, and it traps a lot of people in Trust Wallet specifically, because Trust Wallet does not warn you about it before you try to send.
